Sindh Green Foundation is a legally registered, non-government not for profit civil society organization. It works with aim to change the quality of urban and rural lives through education, culture, rule of law, youth civic engagement and environmental conservation. It is implementing short as well as long-term interventions across Sindh province of Pakistan.
SGF arranged ‘District Level Budget Consultation’ under project ‘Budget Research and Advocacy for Democratic Accountability in joint with collaboration with Center for Peace & Development Initiative (CPDI) and National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The event held in District Council Hall, Sanghar. The event gathered 43 participants includes Local Government Representatives, civil society, media and other stakeholders.
Partners review & planning meeting conducted under 'Budget Research & Democratic Accountability Project. The event aimed to review progress planning of partner organization across Sindh province. SGF representative Mr. Noor Muhammad attended the event and shared the progress and future planning.
SGF facilitated IBA Sukkur teams in conducting youth awareness session about National Talent Hunt Program (NTHP) in district Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar of Sindh province Pakistan. The NTHP is a countrywide program managed by OGDCL Pakistan under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Around 15,00 youth attended the sessions. The application forms and related IEC material was also distributed.
SGF works with youth community through its umbrella organization namely ‘Area Cricket Council’. ACC arranges annual youth sports events with aim to utilize ‘Power of Sports’ for youth civic engagement. A youth led sports event is started on 15 December 2019 to 15 Feb 2020. The event will engage around 20,000 youth of nearby areas. 10 sessions & youth interactive dialogues will be conducted on civic education and budget making process at district level.
SGF works with youth for climate action through its key programmatic area namely ‘Nature & Environmental Conservation (NEC). The youth community is focus for climate action and justice. The youth are engaged through sports and cultural events. SGF youth volunteers planted 2000 trees in August to October 2019.
SGF is promoting reading culture in joint collaboration with Al-Mehran Foundation Sanghar & Education Development Foundation Pakistan. The regular educational book fairs are carried out to promote reading culture amongst children & youth. An educational book fair is started on 14 January 2020 in Maqsoodo Rind, District Sanghar, Pakistan
